The Junior Canadians wrapped up another successful weekend in Vermont July 30th to August 1st, winning the 6th Annual Champlain Edge Summer Showdown. They got off to a slow start dropping the tournament opener 5-3 to the Tri-County Eagles, but bounced back on day two with a 6-1 win over the Burlington (MA) Starz and a 7-4 win over the host Champlain Edge.
They wrapped up the tournament with a 4-0 win over Adam's Glass. Cole Kaiser took to the mound and dominated in a complete game, one-hit effort. The no-hit bid was broken in the top of the seventh with two out. The very next hitter flied out to left to end the game.
The weekend before, the 16U’s made their first serious run at a tournament in Syracuse, NY. The CNY Thunder hosted a tournament which drew top PBLO and New York teams to the area. In a rain-shortened event the Juniors swept into and through the finals to capture their first tournament title of the season.
